On 7 May 2025, Embassy of Pakistan organized Alumni gathering for Nepali Army officers trained in various institutions of Pakistan Armed Forces.
General Gaurav SJB Rana, Former Chief of Army Staff, Nepal was the chief guest at the occasion and General Rajendra Chhetri, Former Chief of Army Staff attended the event as Special Guest. A visiting delegation of National Defence University (NDU), Pakistan also joined the event.
In his welcome remarks, Col Muhammad Ali Alvi, Defence Attaché, Embassy of Pakistan traced history and highlighted the vibrant bilateral relations between the Armed Forces of Nepal and Pakistan, especially in training domain. He underscored continued support by Pakistan Armed Forces for capacity building of Nepali Army.
General Gaurav SJB Rana emphasized that the training of Nepali Army officers and soldiers, as well as the capacity building of the Nepal Army through Pakistani institutions, holds tremendous value, both for the institution as a whole and for the individuals involved.
Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi, in his concluding remarks, said that Pakistan and Nepal have strong relations based on trust and mutually beneficial collaborations between the people, governments and armed forces. He expressed his confidence that the existing Military-to-Military relations between the two countries will continue to grow and reach new heights.
Ambassador Hashmi strongly condemned India’s unprovoked aggression, a blatant violation of its sovereignty, the UN Charter, and international law, which has seriously endangered regional peace and stability. Pakistan reserves the right to respond under Article 51 of the UN Charter and will defend its sovereignty by all available means.
Participants of the alumni gathering expressed their gratitude to Pakistan and its Mission in organizing the event and providing them a platform to relive fond memories of their stay in Pakistan.
